- Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years - Experience:
2 years to less than 3 years Work setting - Various locations Tasks
- Calculate crane capacities
- Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
- Perform pre-operational inspection
- Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas
- Assemble tower cranes on site
- Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards
- Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials
- Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move and place equipment and materials
- Perform routine maintenance work Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Boom Truck Crane Operator Trade Certification
- First Aid Certificate
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Type of cranes
- Hydraulic or telescoping boom Security and safety
- Criminal record check Work conditions and physical capabilities
- Work under pressure
- Attention to detail Own tools/equipment
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Hard hat
