Summary
Under the direction of the Dean of Academic Services, provide instruction in the program. The assignments for this position may include collegiate transfer and pre-collegiate basic skills courses. This position may also include a combination of day, evening, online and/or hybrid teaching assignments. This position may include face-to‑face instruction in a prison environment. All Temporary Part‑time instructors are compensated a flat rate of $70.51 per credit hour taught each semester pursuant to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Selection Process
Applications will be screened by a committee including faculty from the discipline when possible. Candidates may be required to participate in teaching and/or counseling demonstrations. Professional references will be contacted for finalists.

Minimum Salary
Minimum Salary $70.51 per hour
Maximum Salary
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s with a major related to the subject of the course taught AND either: (A) thirty hours or two semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. (This requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor) OR (B) one year of professional experience working with older adults;
OR Associate degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and sixty hours or four semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district.
