IEWC is seeking a forward-thinking strategic Buyer to elevate our procurement function beyond transactional purchasing. This role is designed for a proactive professional who thrives on data-driven decision-making, supplier relationship management, and value creation. This role will be responsible for both tactical procurement and development of their assigned supply base. You’ll play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies, optimizing cost structures, and driving innovation across our supply base.
Responsibilities:- Purchasing:
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and monitor supplier performance.
- Material Planning Optimization:
- Utilize MRP systems to plan material needs, track inventory levels, and prevent shortages.
- Analyze demand patterns and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with material availability.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels, minimize excess stock, and prevent stockouts.
- Implement inventory control strategies to optimize working capital.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable and consistent deliveries.
- Evaluate supplier performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers on cost reduction initiatives.
- Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field.
- 2-4 years of Supply Chain experience required.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, APICS CPIM) preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of MRP principles, and ability to navigate ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus)
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Experience in an electrical products manufacturing environment is advantageous.
