As a Senior Machine Operator, you are trusted to own your equipment and play a critical role in producing high-quality packaging solutions while ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals with manufacturing experience who enjoy working with machinery, solving problems, and contributing to a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Do- Set up and operate production equipment according to manufacturing specifications and safety requirements.
- Perform machine startup, shutdown, and changeover activities.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production runs to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Adjust machine settings and operating parameters to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
- Identify and resolve basic equipment issues to maintain continuous production.
- Conduct routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance activities.
- Escalate equipment concerns when additional maintenance support is needed.
- Safely operate electric pallet jacks, roll lifts, and hoists.
- Perform quality inspections in accordance with the Pregis Quality Management System.
- Monitor product quality and make adjustments to maintain production standards.
- Accurately document production output, machine settings, and operational issues.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members during shift handoffs and throughout the production process.
- Previous machine and equipment operating experience and industrial safety practices.
- Mechanical aptitude, experience with quality inspections, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow standardized work instructions and procedures.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and safety mindset.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as required.
