General Position Summary
This is an advanced-level position that provides post sales project management and wastewater treatment process technical support for Advan Tex and MB (moving bed biofilm reactor) treatment processes. Work will generally be focused on existing wastewater treatment systems that require data collection, monitoring and troubleshooting. The Post Sales Engineer will regularly interact with internal Orenco staff, operators, designers/engineers, business partners (distributors, dealers, suppliers), service providers, and regulators regarding existing systems that utilize Orenco wastewater equipment.
Responsibilities include collecting wastewater influent and effluent data, reviewing existing designs, recommending process changes, troubleshooting existing wastewater processes, and working closely with R&D to communicate customer feedback and develop design change recommendations.

- Demonstrates leadership within Systems Engineering Department.
- Mentors and trains staff, provides process training, participates in meetings, and improves internal/customer processes.

- Planning
- Improves methods for internal and customer‑facing processes.
- Partakes in team initiatives and objectives with various departments.
- Systems Engineering Support
- Assists with project management of commercial and municipal collection/treatment opportunities.
- Leads research projects and supports commissioning of new systems.
- Post‑Sales Support
- Assists post‑sales group with troubleshooting, protocol creation, and data solicitation.
- Recommends design revisions and travels to assist existing treatment systems.
- Optimizes O&M requirements.
- Reporting
- Documents all tasks and interactions in CRM.
- Maintains accurate CRM databases and distributes reports.
- Provides information to R&D regarding existing designs.
- Familiar with third‑party equipment on commercial and municipal treatment opportunities.
- Occasionally performs additional duties across systems engineering, sales, asset management, and customer service teams.
- Works during manufacturing business hours, potentially including early or late shifts and occasional long hours.
- Requires regular, consistent attendance.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or higher is required. Professional Engineer registration is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience- At least five years of experience in wastewater process design or manufacturing (graduate-level education may substitute for experience).
- Experience with MB and/or attached‑growth wastewater processes is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to give technical presentations.
- Effective interaction with diverse audiences.
- Competence with word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
- Willingness to travel at least 10% of work time (travel requirements may vary). Includes meeting airline requirements and final destination travel.

- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and vehicle insurance if business travel requires use of personal vehicle.

Office environment with occasional exposure to outside elements when traveling or conducting field work. Involves operating a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging. Requires ability to visit project sites on various terrains and weather conditions. Field work may involve exposure to wastewater and personal protective equipment such as gloves.
Physical RequirementsVision, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding. Extended sitting and computer use. Intermittent standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, driving, and occasional light lifting up to 20 lbs. Occasional unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs, sometimes up to 70 lbs (assisted if >70 lbs). Operation of vehicle and airplane travel may be required.
Salary$80,704.00 – $ per year
