Headquartered in Old Saybrook, CT, Infiltrator Water Technologies is the leading provider of engineered plastic chambers, synthetic aggregates, tanks, advanced wastewater treatment systems, and accessories for onsite/decentralized wastewater and storm water management. The majority of products are manufactured from recycled plastic. Founded in 1987, the company operates throughout the US and Canada with multiple manufacturing plants, dedicated sales, and corporate team members.

Infiltrator is a pioneer in innovative plastic technologies for underground water management and supports Habitat for Humanity by donating components for septic systems each year.

Responsibilities

General

Position Summary:

The Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational functions within Manufacturing Ops, Safety, Supply Chain, and Logistics. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, develop and implement operational strategies, and ensure seamless execution of processes to achieve organizational goals.

Essential Functions and Key Result Areas
  • Safety/Culture
    • Maintains safety, cultural, and professional standards; promotes a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Planning & Execution
    • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals, using cross-functional workshops, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven analysis to ensure buy-in and effective execution.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews with quarterly KPI tracking and action plans; identify areas for improvement and execute targeted initiatives.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication with structured interdepartmental meetings and shared dashboards.
    • Drive strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance using Lean or other process-improvement methodologies.
    • Facilitate change management with stakeholder engagement, training programs, and adoption metrics to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee and direct all operational functions including supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing; foster an employee-first and customer-centric culture.
    • Ensure efficient use of resources through capacity planning, resource allocation models, and utilization reviews.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures; regularly update documentation and training materials.
    • Manage budgets and track performance against KPIs using variance analysis to guide decisions.
    • Address change-management challenges with communication plans, feedback loops, and pilot programs.
    • Enable cross-functional communication through regular check-ins, meetings, shared documentation, workshops, and open feedback channels.
    • Use data analytics to identify trends, set goals, and monitor progress with dashboards and transparent reporting.
    • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team by encouraging idea generation and recognition of successful initiatives.
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of approximately 8 direct reports; set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
    • Implement structured processes for talent identification, succession planning, and skills development; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Establish measurable objectives for team leaders; monitor progress and provide coaching to maximize performance.
    • Communicate operational performance and strategy to stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Experience
    • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in operations management with a track record of driving efficiency and improvement.
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing integration of mergers and acquisitions, including process harmonization and cultural alignment.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extensive experience in data analytics and process improvement methodologies.
    • Willingness and ability to travel in accordance with current travel regulations.
    • Must meet Orenco/ADS driver criteria including a valid driver’s license and insurability requirements.
