Company Description

Orenco Systems, Inc. (subsidiary of Infiltrator Water Technologies) is a manufacturer of innovative onsite and decentralized wastewater collection and treatment technologies. Services include community collection systems, advanced secondary treatment systems, watertight fiberglass tanks, and in‑tank pumping and filtration systems. Orenco also manufactures high‑quality standard, custom, and OEM controls, along with state‑of‑the‑art fiberglass buildings, tanks, and enclosures.

Infiltrator Water Technologies is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry. It produces a variety of revolutionary products and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leachfields and concrete septic system components, sold through wholesale distribution across the United States and Canada for use on properties with onsite wastewater treatment systems.

General Position Summary

This entry‑to‑intermediate level position produces Orenco products. A successful OMT (Orenco Manufacturing Tech) will move with purpose and urgency from task to task, be cooperative, demonstrate self‑motivation, stay positive in the face of difficulties, use work time efficiently, collaborate with team members, and retain information.

Essential Functions &

Key Responsibilities Safety/Culture
  • Continuously maintain Orenco Management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
  • Promote, encourage, and reinforce a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
  • Load or fill molds with appropriate raw materials, paying close attention to detail.
  • Read production drawings and assemble subcomponents into finished products using epoxies, glues, resins, screws, nuts, and bolts.
  • Trim, sand, grind, drill, and/or router fiberglass parts into accurate finished products.
  • Recognize part defects and make appropriate repairs.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and perform proper chemical storage and labeling.
  • Follow all safety rules diligently.
  • Use power tools safely, maintain equipment, and clean the work area daily.
  • Pay close attention to detail when completing any task.
  • Follow SOPs (standard operating procedures) and MOPs (machine operating procedures) in all areas.
  • Use tablets and computers to enter and retrieve data.
  • Inform Lead Technician and Supervisor of any material, equipment, safety, or quality issues.
  • Read and interpret work orders, completing projects in preparation for shipment using manufacturing drawings and established SOPs.
  • Set up and use various jigs and fixtures.
  • Box, package, and label finished products in preparation for shipment.
  • Empty shop trash cans and cardboard bins.
  • Operate the cardboard compactor when needed.
  • Work during manufacturing business hours, including occasional early or late shifts and overtime as required.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in any area.
Systems Production
  • Cut PVC, polyethylene, ABS (acrylonitrile‑butadiene‑styrene) pipe, tubing, sheets, and polyester filter fabric into component lengths for finished products.
  • Drill, saw, grind, sand, sew, and weld fiberglass, PVC, ABS, and polyethylene pipe, tubing, sheets, fittings, components, and polyester filter fabric.
  • Dispense and apply methacrylate adhesive, superglue, and various PVC cements in component manufacturing.
  • Grind, trim, and ream finished products for final preparation before shipment.
Education

No minimum required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Less than one year of experience in Orenco manufacturing shops.
  • Completion of a two‑hour Emergency Response & Haz Wopper Training and annual follow‑up training.
  • Good communication and team‑building skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adjust to priority changes with little notice and remain calm during confrontational or high‑pressure situations.
