MS Extended School Year Teacher 5th Quarter
Position Title:
Extended School Year Teacher, Middle School 5th Quarter
Dates: 7/6/2-8/6/26
Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8:30-11:30 am
Reports to:
Director of Special Education and Middle School Principal or designee
Provide a program for students who are in jeopardy of failing middle school coursework that allows them to demonstrate mastery of ELA and Math grade‑level standards. Students will be required to produce materials that demonstrate mastery at the end of the 5‑week program.
Primary Responsibilities- Plan and implement curriculum
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
- Plan and implement activities that meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of students
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
- Monitor and support individual needs
- Implement IEP, collect data for goals
- Maintain safe, clean, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environments
- Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in the classroom
- Maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism at all times
- Maintain compliance with all state regulations related to the Massachusetts DESE
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
- Perform other duties as assigned
$3,500 stipend for working the full 8:30‑11:30 program. Compensation will be paid at the conclusion of the program.
Qualifications- Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification
- Successful teaching experience
- Experience modifying and differentiating curriculum for students within sub‑special and inclusion classes
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators
- Commitment to be present for each day of the program
Summer
Salary$3,500 to $3,500 Stipend
