This Level 3 Machinist role is a senior, largely independent 5-axis position: you'll set up, program, and run DMG Mori multi-axis machining centers producing large, high-precision components — parts that can weigh more than 4,000 lbs and hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0005"

• Independently set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers (vertical and/or horizontal)
• Perform complex machining operations including roughing, finishing, and precision boring
• Machine large, complex components (over 4,000 lbs) to tight tolerances (±0.0005")
• Develop and modify CNC programs using conversational and G-code programming, and read/interpret G-code/M-code to troubleshoot and optimize toolpaths
• Collaborate on or independently create machining strategies for complex parts
• Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T with multiple datums, and perform in-process and final inspections
• Accurately measure large features (up to 25+ inches) using advanced metrology equipment
• Train and mentor machinists and operators across multiple work centers, and drive process improvements using lean principles

This role runs on DMG Mori multi-axis (3-, 4-, and 5-axis) CNC machining centers, vertical and/or horizontal, programmed using both conversational and G-code programming.

Required

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including advanced 5-axis machining
• Expertise in multi-axis machining and work holding strategies for large, complex parts
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and GD&T with multiple datums
• High competency with precision measurement instruments, including large-feature metrology
• Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and technical leadership
• Experience training or mentoring other machinists/operators

This role pays $27.10–$40.65 per hour, full time, 3rd shift, with multiple openings.
