This is not a review-only or oversight role. The Senior Accounting Manager will be directly responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, close execution, and process build-out, while partnering closely with the CFO to professionalize and scale the accounting function as the platform grows.
This role is expected to evolve into an Assistant Controller / Controller position as the organization matures.
Key Responsibilities Hands-On Close & Accounting Execution- Own and personally execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and estimates
- Perform and maintain high-quality balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee and actively participate in:
- Accounts payable and expense accuracy
- Accounts receivable and contract asset activity
- Bank and cash reconciliations
- Intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Build, document, and enforce standardized close procedures and accounting workflows
- Improve and automate recurring processes across the record-to-report cycle
- Serve as the day-to-day Net Suite owner, including account structure, mappings, and reporting integrity
- Identify breakdowns in process or data and fix them, not escalate them
- Lead accounting integration for acquired entities, including:
- Chart of accounts alignment
- Close calendar integration
- Cash-to-accrual conversions
- Standardization of accounting policies and practices
- Partner with the CFO during acquisitions to ensure clean handoff into ongoing operations
- Manage and develop accounting staff through hands-on training and review
- Assign work, review outputs, and ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Serve as the first line of problem solving for accounting questions and execution issues
- Reduce dependency on the CFO for day-to-day accounting decisions
- Support technical accounting areas such as ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Assist with audit preparation and auditor support
- Maintain clear documentation and support for key accounting judgments
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)
- 7–12+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Demonstrated hands-on ownership of the close process
- Experience in multi-entity, private equity–backed, or high-growth environments preferred
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Net Suite experience strongly preferred
- Willing and able to execute before delegating
