Role Description

The Faculty Member – Accounting will serve as a part-time instructor responsible for teaching undergraduate accounting courses on-site at the Suwanee, GA campus. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing syllabi, lesson plans, and learning materials; delivering engaging lectures and facilitating discussions; and assessing student performance through assignments, exams, and projects. The faculty member will hold regular office hours, provide academic guidance and feedback, and support students in developing strong technical and analytical accounting skills.

Additional duties may include participating in curriculum development, aligning course content with current professional standards, and collaborating with colleagues to uphold the university’s academic and ethical values.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, financial reporting, and managerial accounting, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Experience teaching or training in higher education or professional settings, with skill in classroom management and student engagement.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and standard office software (e.g., LMS platforms, spreadsheets, presentation tools) to support instruction and assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback and support diverse learners.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the requisite field of instruction (Master’s or terminal degree given preference; and a terminal degree is required for graduate instruction).
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and to fostering respect for diverse backgrounds and viewpoints.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration in a dynamic academic environment.
