We have an immediate need with our client for a Facilities Design Mechanical engineer that will focus on HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a registered mechanical engineer looking for a growth opportunity with an established firm.
The role will supervise staff, work directly with clients, and be a part of a growing mechanical design practice with opportunities to advance. Our client provides design and construction management services for a growing variety of clients in government, healthcare, and water/wastewater facilities markets.
Proficiencies should include design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in a variety of facility types. The position offers career paths that could lead to mechanical discipline leadership or project management depending upon your interests
Responsibilities:
- Design for building mechanical systems for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial ventilation systems.
- Developing reports and narratives for preliminary design submittals, evaluations, and troubleshooting reports.
- Performing Construction Administration for projects under construction including reviewing construction submittals, responding to requests for information, and conducting periodic site visits.
- Assisting with development of building mechanical budgets.
- Conducting quality assurance reviews of projects.
- Participating in interdisciplinary cross-checks.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- PE in the state of Georgia or ability to obtain PE quickly.
- 5 plus years of mechanical design experience for water/wastewater, healthcare, and commercial facilities
- Mechanical systems design with comprehensive understanding of applicable international codes and NFPA standards for building mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office Applications (Excel/Word/Outlook)
- Ability to train junior staff
- Ability to lead multi-disciplined
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
