Project Leader - MEP Construction - Suwanee, GA

Overview

Project Leader 1 – MEP Construction is responsible for supporting the overall strategy, execution of deliverables, project completion and profitable outcomes for a significantly complex project &/or multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires a proficient understanding of prime or general contracting with experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information.

Here are some key responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules.
• Ensure that resources, manpower, and materials are allocated effectively.
• Prepare and manage project budgets.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure that projects stay within financial constraints.
• Oversee teams of contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other staff.
• Promote collaboration and ensure that everyone is aligned with project goals.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Address issues promptly to minimize delays or additional costs.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.
• Oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure the timely delivery of resources to the construction site.
• Handle unexpected challenges, such as site issues or material delays.
• Adapt plans to maintain progress without compromising quality or safety.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, financials, and progress.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site.

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience OR
• 5+ years with a MS degree in Engineering.

• Supervise Construction Project Managers and perform PM duties on construction projects.
• Maintain operational and administrative control for construction projects; extensive Project Management experience managing teams and monitoring multiple projects at any given time.
• Experienced in up-front project involvement with engineering firms, the client, and General Contractors.
• Proven track record of successful projects. Has managed diverse groups on projects that involve multi-discipline knowledge for example;
  Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power, and Instrumentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Can direct cross‑function teams to reach mutual agreement to meet business objectives.
• Able to work in a diverse environment, with personnel having a range of backgrounds.
• Strong analytical thinking to evaluate options and directions.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Can facilitate change and communicate effectively.
• Able to think abstractly, in both short and long term planning.

• Required to have direct experience and clear understanding of the entire project lifecycle initiation to completion.
• Previous experience and exposure to MEP Construction Management, Prime Contracting, or Specialty Contracting Solutions.
• Proven understanding of key competencies aligned to the project planning; installation and project completion required to ensure overall project success.
• Engineering and Design Development.
  • Bid‑Package creation and final estimate review.
  • Proficiency in Accubid is preferred.
• Project Schedule development & tracking

• Experienced in the Commissioning and Testing of diverse specialty systems.
