Internet of Things (IoT) Technician/Manager (Hands-on), Suwanee, GA

The Internet of Things (IoT) Technician/Manager is responsible for system monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with IT policies and industry standards. The role oversees the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth functioning of systems, networks, servers, and software applications by managing their performance, maintenance, and security. The position maintains operational continuity and meets business needs, is hands-on at all times, and does not involve managing personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain IT and MES infrastructure including servers, network, machine and data collection, visualization, and cloud connectivity to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor IT systems to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime.
  • Lead incident response efforts to diagnose, address, and document IT-related incidents.
  • Proactively assess and manage IT capacity to meet future business demands.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to procure, implement, and support IT solutions.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
  • Develop and regularly update disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of outages.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • IT certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, and cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience in managing IT operations.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Application experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.
