Qualifications:

* Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission required

Education

Qualifications:

* Specialist's Degree in related field required

* Doctoral Degree in related field preferred

Experience

Qualifications:

* 10+ years of progressively responsible instructional leadership experience with at least five years of experience as a local school principal required

* District level leadership experience preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide leadership for school improvement and operational management of the district and promote system level advancement of the vision, mission, and strategic goals established by Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Superintendent and Board of Education.

* Provide transformational leadership to assess, plan, develop, launch, and manage educational reform in underperforming schools, with the expected outcome of accelerating results for all students

* Model and expect excellence and leverage data when working with school leaders and communities to drive systematic change to accelerate student achievement and close the achievement gap.

* Work in collaboration with the Chief Learning Officer to reinforce consistent and successful implementation of curriculum, assessment, testing, and policies and procedures that maximize educational options and lead to improved achievement for all students.

* Responsible for the implementation of the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) as the district's accountability system.

* Identify Targeted schools and lead the development and implementation of effectiveness plans.

* Coordinate the departmental functions of Academic Support, Federal and Special Programs, Planning, Program Development, Safety and Security, and School Operations and Support.

* Ensure coherence across all program areas.

* Provide support for all local schools within the district through leadership provided to the Cluster Superintendents.

* Communicate the division's strategic direction for all program improvement initiatives in a collaborative manner.

* Provide staff development leadership.

* Provide a comprehensive and integrated model of staff development across all program areas.

* Design, deliver, and evaluate staff development units across program areas as needed for program implementation and improved student achievement.

* Model effective strategies for the School Improvement and Operations Division.

* Provide division leadership.

* Act as the divisional representative on the Superintendent's Cabinet and in other appropriate settings.

* Work collaboratively with other division heads to meet the district's mission and objectives.

* Supervise and evaluate the work of divisional personnel.

* Lead the development and management of program budgets within the division.

* Communicate with internal and external audiences.

* Articulate and communicate programs and processes across the division.

* Participate with cross-divisional data quality processes, analysis, and reporting of student achievement data.

* Work with federal, state, and community agencies to further GCPS vision, mission, and strategic goals.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
