Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and Chiorino-specific equipment. This role also supports overall facility maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and general building repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate electrical hand tools and diagnostic equipment (voltage, amperage, and temperature measuring devices).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, layouts, and electrical schematics.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assemble, fabricate, and install machinery components and equipment.
  • Program and operate fabrication equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance department tools and machinery.
  • Manage daily workload to minimize downtime and productivity loss.
  • Maintain calibration and repair documentation.
  • Maintain approved inventory of repair supplies and replacement parts.
  • Notify management of abused or misused equipment.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout as a Chiorino “Authorized Associate.”
  • Assist fabrication associates with machinery concerns and malfunctions.
  • Perform general housekeeping and facility cleaning duties as required.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations, including off-shift hours when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Maintenance experience (trade school and/or previous employment).
  • Strong competence in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical/electronic circuits and wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Proficiency using basic measuring tools (tape measure) and calculators.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and high lift.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience programming machinery (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens).
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance systems.
  • Experience programming Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Experience testing electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing/workshop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and heat.
  • Regular use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
