Team

Leader Tape Tech Position Summary

The automatic taping tools (ATF) Team Lead may work either repairing Ames Tools or assembling/disassembling automatic taping tools for Tape Tech. The Team Lead will be cross trained to perform a variety of different functions within the production environment. The Team Lead must work well in a team environment, have the ability to lead up to 15 people, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience with assembly and small hand tools strongly preferred. Ability to work overtime as needed required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to train employees on building of products
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively lead team and communicate goals and changes
  • Identify the various parts (name and number) and tool families
  • Learn the assembly process (which includes parts ordering, hour‑by‑hour, replacement rate – recycled vs replaced, maintain quality standards)
  • Printing and creating tool labels in the computer system
  • Responsible for tracking production and be able to meet goals
  • Conduct Tool Audit at the end of every shift (which includes tools and benches)
  • Learn Quality Control of all products in area of responsibility
  • Engage with Management and Team Members and provide appropriate feedback
  • Ability to set priorities and adjust the line workload
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
Basic Qualifications
  • Follow standard work instructions to repair or assemble automatic taping tools (ATF) tools in line with determined quality standards
  • Drive daily production expectations and quotas
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Recognize quality defects during the assembly process
  • Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and company policies
  • Meet all quality specifications.
  • Maintain paperwork assigned by any level of management
  • Actively participate in all continuous improvement activities
  • Adhere to all 5s standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Flexible to cross train for proficiency on a variety of duties
  • Adhere to attendance requirements and flexible to work overtime as required
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback based on performance
