Manufacturing Engineer designs and implements the process, procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process and is a key contributor to planning, measuring and improving quality through both short-term and long-term initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implements production processes and related documentation that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety (lean projects).
  • Participates in cross‑functional teams focused on product design improvements, new product design, and field testing.
  • Researches automation techniques, tests new systems for efficiency, and plans factory layouts to optimize production.
  • Contributes to the design of tools, machinery or processes that increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Implements process validation plans, performs process failure mode effect analysis, and prepares control plans for manufactured and vended products.
  • Performs test plans for alternate materials, parts, tools or systems to introduce improvements.
  • Writes engineering changes and deviations to document changes to form, fit or function of production parts or manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluates returned goods for manufacturing defects, non‑conformances, and product issues as needed. Conducts RMA processes.
  • Performs dimensional and functional reviews of manufactured and purchased parts.
  • Identifies continuous‑improvement project opportunities, leads projects, activities, and teams.
  • Assists in identifying, implementing, and developing KPIs, metrics, and reports.
  • Designs and sources jigs/gauges and other methods for both existing and new products and processes.
  • Represents the Manufacturing function on new product development teams as needed.
  • Assists with work instructions and other documentation maintenance for the Quality Management System.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers to resolve escalations, leads cross‑functional efforts to identify root causes, and implements corrective actions.
  • Interfaces with suppliers to improve purchases and part‑income quality levels, managing SCARs with vendors if required.
  • Validates accuracy of bills of material and other key aspects of product data management.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
  • 2–3 years of manufacturing process or manufacturing production experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a QA Engineer (preferred).
  • Lean Six Sigma training – Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience using CAD/CAE software (plus).
  • Experience with Oracle/SAP (plus).
  • Experience creating SOPs, work/job instructions.
  • Experience structuring bills of materials and ECO management (plus).
  • Experience specifying, supporting, and troubleshooting automation equipment (PLC, sensors, actuators, etc.) (plus).
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer‑relations skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading lean transformation projects and both large and small quality improvement projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to use calibrated gauges, tools, and fixtures, and design special functional gauges.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering up to 100 lbs with a dolly.
