Pay: $32.40/hr
Job Type: Full-Time, 90 day Temp-to-Hire
Job Summary
We are hiring a 2nd Shift Maintenance Leadhand for a client at their manufacturing facility in Suwanee, GA. This role is responsible for leading the 2nd shift maintenance team while performing hands-on repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and building systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced maintenance technician with strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently without direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the 2nd shift maintenance team and plan/direct work within the department
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on non-functioning manufacturing equipment
- Read and interpret electrical prints, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and blueprints
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities and auditing of equipment
- Modify equipment, carts, tools, and manufacturing-related items as needed
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts to support maintenance tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, PM check sheets, and parts usage
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities
- Support general clean-up and facility upkeep as needed
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Safety Manager on audits and safety compliance
- Proven experience in general maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints
- Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct a team efficiently
- Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certification or experience
- Ability to read and speak English
- Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
- Available for Monday-Friday 2nd shift and overtime as needed
- Machining and/or welding experience
- Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles
- Experience training employees on quality, safety, and productivity
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with sourcing parts and maintenance information independently
