Murrelektronik is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in SMT and PCBA manufacturing to help establish and optimize our printed circuit board assembly operations in Suwanee, Georgia.
This is a highly visible role where you'll serve as the technical expert for SMT manufacturing, leading new product introductions, developing manufacturing processes, programming production equipment, and driving continuous improvement. You'll work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure products are successfully launched and manufactured with exceptional quality and efficiency.

What You'll Do- Lead the manufacturing engineering activities for new PCBAs assemblies from prototype through production.
- Develop, validate, and improve SMT manufacturing processes including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow oven, selective soldering, conformal coating, and AOI inspection.
- Program and optimize SMT manufacturing equipment to improve quality and throughput.
- Partner with Design Engineering to provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback and support successful product launches.
- Create manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and standardized processes.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield and reduce defects.
- Support manufacturing line startup, equipment qualification, and process validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in an SMT/PCBA environment.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Hands‑on experience programming and troubleshooting SMT manufacturing equipment.
- Strong understanding of PCBA assembly processes, reflow oven profiling, and process optimization.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
- Working knowledge of IPC standards and quality systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with feasibility studies for Manufacturing and Testing.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Experience in a high‑mix, low‑to‑medium volume manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
