Gear Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

As a Gear Machine Operator, you will operate and oversee gear manufacturing equipment, ensuring precise and high-quality output. Your responsibilities include loading and unloading metal work pieces, following detailed blueprints and process instructions, monitoring machining cycles, conducting in-process inspections, and maintaining accurate records. You will also communicate any tooling or machine concerns to technicians and assist with changeovers and setup.

$22.00 per hour

Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM

• Operate gear manufacturing machinery and processes
• Load, position, and unload metal work pieces according to specifications
• Follow machine setups, blueprints, and process instructions
• Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools
• Monitor tooling and machine conditions, recognizing abnormalities
• Assist with changeovers and machine setup
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards

• Previous precision machining experience strongly preferred
• Gear manufacturing experience highly desirable
• Ability to read blueprints and utilize precision measurement equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to produce high-quality work while meeting production goals
• Understanding of gear manufacturing, hobbing, shaping, grinding, or CNC machining is a plus
