Day at Lowe'sYou will welcome customers, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. Your daily responsibilities may vary by department:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
- Welcome customers and deliver friendly, professional service.
- Assist customers in locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately.
- Cross‑train in other areas of the store.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
- 6 months experience using retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
- Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, sitting, or other activities.
- Minimum lifting requirement of 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without accommodation.
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification related to a department (hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, lumber/building materials).
Regular travel is not required; occasional travel for meetings, training, or neighboring store support may be necessary.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may be exposed to both indoor and outdoor conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty weather, as well as constant or intermittent noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting guidelines restrict single lifts to 75 lbs; team lifts are used for heavier loads. Powered equipment should be used with proper training or assistance.
