Overview
The Control Technician 4 is responsible for fabricating control panels, field installation, commissioning procedures related to control panels and field instrumentation, troubleshooting and calibration of field instruments, testing, analysis, documentation, and updating drawings of finished control panels. The technician will also care for all shop tools, meters, and associated equipment provided by M.C. Dean, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Following instructions from work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and assembly sequence.
- Performing sheet metal works, punching holes, wiring, painting, and welding.
- Providing on-the-job training to new employees.
- Understanding and adhering to company procedures for handling materials and tools.
- Completing work on schedule and meeting quality goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a shop environment with a high school diploma or GED.
Certifications
- Obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within six months of hire, at the company's expense, and maintain these certifications.
- Pass a background check and drug test.
Work Experience
- Ability to interpret control circuits, schematics, and line diagrams.
- Skill in selecting control components and preparing BOMs according to specifications and standards.
- Experience in fabricating, wiring, testing, and commissioning control panels and circuits.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control schemes.
Tools and Equipment
- Use of power tools, test meters, and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and Hi-Pot testers.
Physical Abilities
- Lifting at least 100 pounds, working at heights up to 60 feet, and climbing scaffolds and ladders.
- Good vision, color perception, and communication skills in English.
Additional Skills
- Recognizing problems and applying general rules to solve specific issues.
- Close-range visual detail perception and auditory comprehension.
