Electric Service Technician

Position Summary

IES Residential is seeking skilled Electric Service Technicians to join our growing Service Organization in and around Suwanee, GA. This role requires strong technical expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential environments, including both new construction and occupied homes. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of NEC codes, prioritizes safety, and delivers customer service. As a front-line representative of IES Residential, the Electric Service Technician upholds the company’s commitment to professionalism, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

• Respond to scheduled and emergency residential service calls throughout the Suwanee, GA area and surrounding communities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving panels, circuits, breakers, lighting, outlets, GFCIs, switches, and related systems.
• Perform home warranty service work while ensuring homeowner satisfaction through quality repairs and clear communication.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor when working in occupied homes.
• Accurately complete service tickets, documenting diagnostics, repairs performed, materials used, and recommended next steps.
• Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and OSHA safety standards.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in clean and safe working condition.
• Communicate effectively with service coordinators, homeowners, and field leadership.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve electrical system performance and enhance the customer experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electric Service Technician or Residential Service Electrician.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose residential electrical systems.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC codes and electrical compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professionalism.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work independently and travel to residential job sites throughout the Suwanee, GA area.

• Work is performed in new construction and occupied residential homes, requiring professionalism in customer-facing environments.
• Must be comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas within existing structures.
• Frequent driving between job sites using a company vehicle.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely operate hand and power tools.
• Requires standing, walking, crouching, climbing ladders, and other physical activities associated with electrical service work.
• May be exposed to varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and outdoor weather.
• Strict adherence to company safety, vehicle, and driving policies is required.
