Pump Technician – Water/Wastewater Utilities
Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical equipment and making a real impact in your community? Join our team as a Pump Technician and play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that delivers clean water and reliable wastewater services to our customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who takes pride in maintaining equipment, solving complex challenges, and working in a dynamic field environment.

What You'll Do
As a Pump Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the pumps and equipment that keep our water and wastewater systems operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on water booster stations, wastewater lift stations, and treatment facility equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using specialized testing and diagnostic tools
  • Disassemble, rebuild, install, and align pumps and rotating equipment
  • Replace bearings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components
  • Support the installation and startup of new pumps, motors, controls, and system upgrades
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately
  • Respond to emergency repairs and equipment breakdowns as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE requirements

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining pumps, motors, or industrial mechanical equipment
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors and in various environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, industrial, or municipal environments
  • Knowledge of lift stations, booster stations, and treatment plant equipment
  • Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Technical school training or mechanical maintenance certification

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance
  • Work around machinery, chemicals, wastewater systems, and confined spaces
  • Stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance activities
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to emergency situations when required
