Transportation Lead/Logistic Coordinator
Serves as the weekend flex for inbound and outbound logistics, owning the master outbound schedule and ensuring accurate execution of all shipping and receiving activities. Acts as the primary point of contact for carriers, vendors, and internal teams to manage late loads, update ETAs, resolve BOL discrepancies, and maintain clear operational communication. Oversees trailer tracking and yard coordination to prevent disruptions, supports purchase order creation and updates, and monitors the freight hub channel to ensure timely issue resolution and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the master outbound sheet on weekends: review the schedule and edit, and answer questions from supervisors and team members.
- Monitor weekend inbound and outbound loads and handle late trucks by contacting carriers or vendors, obtaining updated ETAs, and communicating changes to the operation.
- Create and update purchase orders as needed to support weekend shipping and receiving activity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for BOL questions and discrepancies at all DC's, including reviewing BOLs for accuracy and following up with carriers or vendors to resolve issues.
- Address basic trailer issues on the yard, including tracking trailer status, coordinating trailer moves with the team, and escalating any problems that impact loading or unloading.
- Monitor all communication channels, including the freight hub, Jira Transportation Ticketing System, and all shipper portals (e.g., Tive, Freight Power, and 360 Shipper).
- Monitor the organization and loading accuracy of shipping manifests for small parcel shipments.
- Maintain a working understanding of manifest automation to handle tasks such as printing labels and restarting the Silman line.
- Maintain a close working relationship with leaders in outbound to help coordinate accurate moves.
- Resolve or provide feedback to the logistics team on any issues related to carrier delays or discrepancies.
- Be involved in conducting training checks for manifesto rs, with feedback on failed checks going to the area manager.
- Oversee the unloading and loading of all freight shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against Bills of Lading (BOLs) by inspecting shipments for damage, discrepancy, or document issues.
- Accurately record received items into Coupa.
- Supervise the loading of anything onto trucks or other transport vehicles.
