Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator is on the front lines of executing our mission. This fast-paced, high impact position is critical to the support side of the equation. And there’s so much more to it than just keeping the freight moving efficiently. In this position, you’ll anticipate obstacles before they become delays and remove the friction before it results in frustration.

The only way the Ops Coordinator could work more closely with our drivers is if they were sitting in the passenger seat! This ideal candidate uses strategic foresight and situational awareness to jump in and provide the support our drivers need before they even have to ask.

This is a mostly in-office position.

• · Proactively provide support to our fleet of 20+ drivers through daily operations, staying aware of each drivers location, what stage of the load they are in, and what could potentially go wrong
• · Anticipate operational obstacles and take action before they become delays, missed appointments, or driver frustrations
• · Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing immediate answers, thoughtful solutions, and thorough support throughout their day
• · Monitor loads from pickup through delivery and proactively address issues involving appointments, delays, detention, breakdowns, traffic, weather, any other operational disruptions
• · Communicate load information, rate confirmations, pickup and delivery instructions, and unplanned changes to drivers with urgency and accuracy
• · Work closely with brokers, shippers, receivers, vendors, and other service providers to resolve problems and keep freight moving
• · Assist drivers with ELD issues, HOS questions, roadside situations, equipment problems, and other challenges that arise on the road
• · Own problems from beginning to end rather than simply passing them along to someone else
• · Coordinate breakdowns, repairs, towing, roadside assistance, and other equipment-related issues when necessary
• · Identify opportunities to make the driver's day easier and eliminate unnecessary friction from the operation
• · Collect and organize load documents such as rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, etc. required for billing
• · Follow up on unpaid detention, layover, TONU, and other accessorial charges. Fight for our drivers to get paid for their additional time and services
• · Monitor driver performance and safety metrics and proactively address issues when additional support or intervention is needed
• · Maintain clear and timely communication with the rest of the Miller 66 team so everyone has the information needed to make good decisions
• · Continuously look for ways to improve processes, communication, and the overall driver experience

• · Can stay composed and prioritize effectively when several problems occur at the same time
• · Is resourceful and persistent when solving problems, especially when the first solution doesn't work
