Education & Experience
  • All applicants must meet the administrative and certification requirements specified in Cadet Command Regulation (CCR) 145-2.
  • Bachelor's degree and meets certification requirements as established by the Georgia Department of Education.
  • Certified in the field and meets all requirements to be “Highly Qualified” as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act.
Certificates, Licenses, Permits
  • Valid teacher certification in the assigned teaching field.
Qualifications
  • Incumbent must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position. When appropriate, reasonable accommodations will be provided to afford persons with disabilities an opportunity to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Incumbent must be able to provide a Criminal Background Check with results that adhere to Emanuel County Board of Education Policy GAK(1).
  • Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies; ability and training necessary to effectively utilize technology; evidence of exemplary human relation, organization, and planning skills; evidence of ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Performance Functions

The mission of the Army JROTC program is to motivate young people to be better citizens and to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. The program is designed to educate and train high school Cadets in citizenship; promote community service; instill responsibility, character and self-discipline. The incumbent plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, collaborates with colleagues, creates and maintains a safe classroom environment, employs the instructional methods and philosophy of the Georgia Performance Standards, uses differentiation strategies, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, maintains confidentiality, and engages in continuous professional development.

Specific

Responsibilities
  • Serve as liaison between the Army and civilian community and role model for youth.
  • Provide instruction based on state and county expectations, assess accomplishments, and provide progress reports.
  • Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct, develop classroom behavior rules, and maintain order.
  • Plan and supervise meaningful assignments for paraprofessionals; assist in job performance evaluations.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and instructional material, monitoring use and care.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records per law, county policy, and regulation.
  • Assume responsibility for student safety under supervision in school settings.
  • Provide adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teachers.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by principal or direct supervisor.
