About the Role
Field Service Engineer with Linde Material Handling based in Essex (preferred areas: SE, DA, , ME, RM, SS). Join us and support a diverse range of forklift and warehouse equipment, from pallet trucks to very narrow aisle trucks and automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve technical issues on client sites, ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Execute preventative maintenance and essential check‑ups to keep the fleet running smoothly.
- Travel regularly to customer locations (average travel time about 30 minutes) and build strong client relationships.
- Maintain accurate service records and place orders using company technology.
- Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Prior experience as a vehicle technician, mechanical engineer, forklift technician, plant fitter or similar.
- Experience with plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles or industrial cleaners is highly desirable.
- NVQ Level3 (or equivalent) preferred, but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Comfortable with IT equipment and digital record‑keeping.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Flexible working week: 40‑hour or 45‑hour, Monday to Friday, with shift premium and overtime available.
- 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (additional days for long‑service milestones).
- Company pension scheme (6% employer contribution, minimum 4% employee contribution).

- Local and national technical support.
- Company laptop, phone and all specialist tooling (replacement policy for wear and tear).
- All PPE supplied and company‑cleaned specialist workwear.
- Paid travel (‘door to door’) with average short commute; company van and fuel card (optional private use).
- Occasional on‑call support, paid.
40‑hour or 45‑hour week, Monday to Friday. Travel to customer sites with an average commute of 30 minutes.
