Field Service Engineer

About the Role

Field Service Engineer with Linde Material Handling based in Essex (preferred areas: SE, DA,  , ME, RM, SS). Join us and support a diverse range of forklift and warehouse equipment, from pallet trucks to very narrow aisle trucks and automated solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues on client sites, ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency.
• Execute preventative maintenance and essential check‑ups to keep the fleet running smoothly.
• Travel regularly to customer locations (average travel time about 30 minutes) and build strong client relationships.
• Maintain accurate service records and place orders using company technology.
• Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with team members.

• Prior experience as a vehicle technician, mechanical engineer, forklift technician, plant fitter or similar.
• Experience with plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles or industrial cleaners is highly desirable.
• NVQ Level3 (or equivalent) preferred, but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Comfortable with IT equipment and digital record‑keeping.

• Competitive salary based on experience.
• Flexible working week: 40‑hour or 45‑hour, Monday to Friday, with shift premium and overtime available.
• 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (additional days for long‑service milestones).

• Occasional on‑call support, paid.

40‑hour or 45‑hour week, Monday to Friday. Travel to customer sites with an average commute of 30 minutes.
