Positions Summary
Reporting to the Fleet and Facilities Manager, the Driver (Bus or Van) provides transportation services to people with different abilities, enabling them to work with integrated teams and receive required work support. The driver transports clients safely to and from the Company Skills Training Center, residential homes, and special events using shuttle buses, vans or cars; assists clients in boarding and disembarking;
inspects, fuels, cleans vehicles; and submits receipts, logs, and reports.
- Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour
- Shift: On call as needed, 6:00‑10:30 am &or 1:00‑4:30 pm
- Location: Swansea, IL
- Must have a valid driver’s license
and complete required accident reports.
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience: 1+ years of driving a bus or van preferred.
- Certifications or Licenses:
- Pass Company‑provided training certification for First Aid, CPR, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) within 4 months and maintain valid certification during employment.
- Pre‑employment Tests or Other Criteria: Physical Capacity Test, Drug Test.

Skills:
Basic skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Background Checks:
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.
- Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check.
- Must pass driving history check and meet company policy criteria; maintain valid driver’s license and be 25 or older to drive.
- Driving:
Use of personal insured vehicle for company‑related travel is not required.
- Sitting: Frequently sitting in the normal course of driving vehicles.
- Standing: Occasionally standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting while assisting with inspections and client mobilization.
- Hearing, Speaking: Frequently listening to and speaking with managers, staff, and clients to communicate about requests, training needs and other concerns.
- Seeing: Continually visually alert to drive bus or van, monitor client actions, maintain safety, and read/write or enter data.
- Handling: Frequently using hands in driving, writing, typing, loading, unloading, fastening safety belts.
- Movement: Kneeling required to perform CPR practice sessions, complete skills testing and use as required. Occasionally bending, reaching, and twisting including the ability to complete wheelchair tiedowns; occasionally climbing stairs and/or ladders, squatting.
- Lifting: May need to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. to assist a client to their feet from a lying or sitting position, to help with walking or for the client to change positions.
