TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Immediately

Required Qualifications- Associate Degree from an accredited College or University
- Certification in CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire; training provided by SCEC.
- Certification in CPI within 30 days of hire; training provided by SCEC.
- 7-D License within 30 days of hire and commitment to keep license current
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to the needs of a changing student population.
- Participation in an assessment designed to measure the participant’s competency in specific knowledge and skills described in the Massachusetts Frameworks for ELA and Mathematics.
- Ability to independently lift up to 39 pounds.
- Complete and pass Ethics course and exam.
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited College or University
- Experience working with high school-aged students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges.
- Experience in transitional instruction and experience in implementing the Massachusetts work-based learning plan.
- Experience using technology and data collection to enhance instructional and professional responsibilities.
- Participation in a mentor program that focuses on PBIS, SCERTS, & Deeper Learning approaches
- Demonstrated understanding of collaborative problem-solving (CPS) or willingness to learn and adapt its principles and techniques with students, staff and families.
- Work as a productive member of the instructional team to maximize student outcomes.
- Recognize the need for and provide assistance to students in an appropriately active classroom setting.
- Maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goals.
- May be responsible for working with students in the community in a variety of transition-related domains (employment, post-secondary education, recreation, daily living skills, etc.) and during these activities, collect ongoing transitional data.
- Assume classroom responsibilities in the absence of the teacher.
- Participation in daily duties, as assigned by teacher(s), between the high school classrooms at the Gallishaw School, including Satellite Campuses
- Other student-related assigned responsibilities as needed, including 1:1 assistance and inclusion opportunities.
- Provide support to students in community and work settings.
- An understanding of high school academic concepts to be able to help students achieve their academic goals.
- Participation in mentoring/training sessions across Collaborative programs
- Opportunities for job mobility: on-going career counseling; training opportunities; degree/licensure programs; other professional development opportunities

SALARY: $28,029 to $45,680 annually per SCEC Union Contract Salary Scale
