Job Description
Permanent, 37 hours per week
Fixed hours: Mon–Thu 8am–4pm, Fri 8am–3:30pm.
NWFRS Grade 04 £27,694 to £28,598 per annum.
We are looking to appoint a Logistics and Equipment Technician to join our Fleet Department. The role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of service equipment, together with collection and delivery of vehicles and equipment for service and repair, and carry out roller brake testing.
The successful candidate will assist workshop staff as directed by the Fleet Supervisors, including, but not limited to, assisting technicians with tilting vehicle cabs, storing ladders on vehicles, and operating a forklift truck.
The successful candidate will be a good communicator, with methodical organisational skills for planning workloads to meet deadlines and time management requirements.
Working as part of a team of multi-skilled technicians, you will be working both indoors (in a workshop environment) and outdoors on station visits. The post holder may need to lift heavy items and work in dusty or dirty conditions while cleaning appliances and ladders, maintaining a safe and clean workstation.
Requirements- Category C driving licence
- Category C1 +E licence
- Ladder maintenance course/refreshers or ability to pass the ladder maintenance course, branch maintenance and brake tester training
- Basic mechanical maintenance experience
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Reasonable level of fitness
- Be able to hold a simple conversation at Welsh Level 2 – if not already demonstrated on application, this should be achieved within a 12‑month probation period, with support provided as appropriate
- Appointment subject to a Standard DBS Check and satisfactory references
