About this jobDomestic Electrician HMP Swansea| Full-Time | Permanent Your New Company A leading provider of maintenance within the secure environment of HMP Swansea is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its growing team.
Working across the establishment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical repairs, testing, maintenance, and installation services.
Your New Role As a Maintenance Electrician and part of the Works Department you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance.
Key duties will include:
- Testing and inspecting electrical installations in a commercial building
- Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and fault-finding on electrical systems.
- Replacing circuits and consumer units.
- Undertaking full and partial property rewires.
- Delivering electrical repairs and testing within occupied and void housing stock.
- Completing work in line with current wiring regulations and company procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and site-specific requirements.
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential Qualifications- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or 2394 & 2395 equivalent)
- City & Guilds 2382 Electrical Wiring Regulations
- City & Guilds 2360/2351 Installation Certificate or equivalent NVQ qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Asbestos Awareness Training
- City & Guilds 2393 Part P Qualification
- City & Guilds 2377 PAT Testing
- Proven experience working as a Domestic Electrician.
- Strong fault-finding and testing abilities.
- Experience carrying out domestic installations and rewires.
- Good understanding of current industry regulations and best practice.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Basic IT literacy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
