Permanent - Full-time Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Light Vehicle Technician to join a growing commercial vehicle workshop in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of vehicles and trailers. Diagnostic experience is advantageous, and HGV licence training may be available after 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, maintain and repair HGVs, light vehicles and trailers. Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults. Prepare vehicles for MOT. Attend roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles. Complete job cards and service documentation accurately. Liaise with the parts department to source required parts. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and workshop safety. Follow all Health & Safety and customer site requirements. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and attend training courses.
Skills and Experience:
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, or proven relevant experience. Previous motor trade experience within the last 2 years. Experience working on HGVs and/or light vehicles. Full UK Driving Licence. HGV Licence desirable but not essential. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Flexible approach to working hours and duties. Own tools required. Benefits: £20.00 per hour. Weekly pay. Bonus scheme. Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. Overtime available.
