Job DescriptionMissisquoi Valley Union Middle/High School has a opening for a High School Alternative Program Coordinator. This position acts as the liaison between the main campus and the program.
Responsibilities- Work with, mentor, and provide guidance to students learning outside of the traditional classroom.
- Coordinate student services and coursework.
- Develop and ensure a robust curriculum in consultation with administration.
- Consistently review the program and offer suggestions for development and improvement.
- Act as lead communicator to parents and families.
- Act as onsite student manager, consulting with the Principal on any discipline matters.
- Coordinate with MVU guidance department on grading proficiencies and standards.
- Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid Vermont teaching license. Individuals holding a corresponding teaching license outside VT will be considered equally.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, organizational, collaboration, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
MVU provides educational services for approximately 800 students, grades 7‑12, coming from Franklin, Highgate, and Swanton schools, as well as students from neighboring towns offering school choice.
