Do you have a passion and drive to apply your talents to make a difference? The Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) ReStore is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our mission of helping local families build strength, stability, and self‑reliance through affordable home ownership.
Our Habitat ReStores in Milton, Swanton, and Williston play a vital role in advancing Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build affordable housing. By accepting donations of new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, clothing, electronics, and home goods and selling items at discounted prices, our ReStores promote sustainability while increasing access to affordable resources for the community. Our dedicated teams of staff and volunteers work hard to maintain a constant flow of goods and offer a wide range of items for our retail visits.
The proceeds of ReStore sales are then used to help fund the construction of permanently affordable housing for families and individuals across northwestern Vermont. We offer competitive wages, ample paid time off, and a 20% discount at local ReStores!

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non‑Exempt
Schedule: According to store needs (20 hours a week)
Reports To: ReStore Manager
Supervises: none
The Warehouse Associate helps unload the truck when the drivers return from pick‑ups. They also bring furniture and items out on the floor throughout the day. This requires following safe practices for handling donations and the ability to effectively communicate with donors and express the mission of GMHFH. They will assist in warehouse organizing merchandise and loading purchased goods.
Primary Responsibilities- Loading the sales floor with merchandise throughout the shift.
- Unload donated items from donors’ vehicles in the donation lane and approve or deny donations based on condition.
- Impart GMHFH’s mission to donors and provide proper documentation for their donations.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Assist the truck drivers with unloading their pickup when they return and get items out on the sales floor directly from the truck.
- Attend community and GMHFH events and assist with set up.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Experience handling heavy goods and loading goods for transport preferred.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Able to communicate well with staff and donors.
- Dependable and able to stick to a schedule.
- Excellent customer service skills to respond to any questions or concerns.
- Flexibility to switch to different tasks quickly.
- Able to focus on and complete loading of the truck for the entire shift.
The hourly rate for this part‑time, in‑person position is currently $16 and the position comes with a 20% discount to Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply! Position open until filled. No phone calls, please.
