Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity seeks supervisors for its ReStores in Williston, Milton & Swanton. Our ReStores play a vital role in the mission to build affordable housing by accepting and selling donated items at discounted prices, thereby promoting sustainability and extending access to affordable resources.

Full-Time Hourly, Non-Exempt
Five days per week (according to store needs)
No travel required

Pay: $17–18 per hour

SummaryReStore Supervisors oversee associates, manage donation processes, maintain inventory, handle pricing, and provide customer service while sharing the organization’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities- Coordinate with Store Leaders to fill areas in need for new donations.
- Unload donated items, approve or deny donations.
- Maintain an inventory of all shipping containers and organize product.
- Supervise the donations department, sorting, pricing, and cleaning donations.
- Communicate needs with the Procurement Manager.
- Train new and existing staff on Donation Lane tasks.
- Use a forklift to move clothing bales and perform safety checks.
- Complete opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation.
- Promote a cooperative relationship among procurement, operations, and ReStore support teams.
- Act as point of contact for staff, respond to cashier requests, assign tasks, and ensure efficient staff use.
- Assign tasks and provide basic training to volunteers; elevate concerns to Managers.
- Maintain and develop donor relationships.
- Process customer transactions through the point-of-sale system.
- Assist customers with carrying purchased items to vehicles.
- Sort clothing donations for sale floor placement.
- Maintain organization of back warehouse and yard areas, keeping walkways clear.
- Assist Marketing Manager with outreach material ideas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a retail environment.
- Forklift certification and a valid driver’s license (preferred).
- 2+ years in customer service, dispatching, or a customer-facing role (preferred).
- Retail supervisory experience (preferred).
- High school diploma (preferred).
- Effective communication with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Dependable schedule compliance.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent time management and task assignment abilities.
- Strong organizational and logistic skills.
- Solid reading and writing comprehension.
- Team and independent work capabilities.
- Detail-oriented, prioritization skills.
- Ability to lead a team and resolve minor conflicts.
- Knowledge of safety practices in a warehouse/retail setting.
- Light arithmetic skills for register work.
- Lift, pick up, carry, drop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walk or stand for extended periods in the back warehouse, navigate stairs, and manage a busy sales floor.
- Scoop items from the floor and perform repetitive register tasks.
- Forklift.
- Other equipment as needed for specialty donations.
- Fast-paced, occasionally noisy environment.
