The Mechanical QA/QC Lead is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and compliance of mechanical systems, with a focus on liquid cooling technology, on industrial job sites constructing or retrofitting data centers. This senior role involves supervising QA/QC inspectors, coordinating inspection activities, and ensuring that all mechanical installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in mechanical systems, liquid cooling technologies, and quality assurance processes in high‑tech industrial environments, while also providing leadership and mentorship to the QA/QC team.

Job Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical QA/QC or mechanical inspection in industrial construction, including at least 2 years working with liquid cooling systems in data centers or similar high‑tech environments.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or NDT Level I/II certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with liquid cooling technologies, heat transfer principles, and data center infrastructure.
- Knowledge of testing equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, and thermal imaging tools.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
- Pre‑employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must provide own steel‑toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.
- Lead, mentor, and oversee QA/QC mechanical inspectors and subcontractor teams.
- Assign inspection activities and ensure consistent application of QA/QC procedures.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to junior staff.
- Supervise and conduct detailed inspections of mechanical systems, including liquid cooling systems (e.g., direct‑to‑chip cooling, rear‑door heat exchangers), piping, pumps, valves, and HVAC systems.
- Verify installations comply with project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
- Ensure materials and components meet approved submittals and industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASHRAE, ANSI).
- Oversee and witness functional and performance tests for liquid cooling systems, ensuring leak‑free operation, thermal efficiency, and flow rates meet design criteria.
- Verify pressure testing, flushing, and balancing of cooling loops.
- Collaborate with commissioning teams to validate system performance under operational conditions.
