Quality Control

Overview

The Quality Control I will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of fabricated and erected steel structures through inspection, testing, and documentation. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in the field of quality control within the steel construction industry.

• Quality Inspection and Testing:
  Conduct visual inspections of fabricated steel components, including beams, columns, and connections, to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
• Non-destructive Testing:
  Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as magnetic particle testing (MT) and dye penetrant testing (PT), to detect surface defects, cracks, or discontinuities in welded and fabricated steel components.
• Documentation and Recordkeeping:
  Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring completeness, accuracy, and traceability of quality control activities.
• Generate and maintain inspection and testing documentation in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes.
• Quality Control Procedures and Compliance:
  Follow established quality control procedures and protocols, including inspection checklists, standards, and guidelines, to ensure consistency and effectiveness in quality control activities.
• Assist in the implementation and enforcement of quality control measures and best practices to improve quality, efficiency, and safety in steel fabrication and erection processes.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  Collaborate with project managers, engineers, welders, and fabricators to address quality-related issues, provide technical support, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate inspection findings, test results, and quality concerns to relevant stakeholders, including project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, to facilitate timely resolution of quality issues.
• Safety and Compliance:
  Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including OSHA standards and company safety protocols, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and safety audits to promote awareness, compliance, and continuous improvement in safety performance.
