Transportation Maintenance Tech I: A16 ($50,004.00 - $61,129.92/yearly) Transportation Maintenance Tech II: A17 ($51,000.00 - $64,468.92/yearly) Transportation Maintenance Tech III: A18 ($53,400.00 - $71,055.00/yearly)

Position Description Transportation Maintenance Tech I Performs routine transportation operations or maintenance support work such as roadway maintenance and repair; light and heavy equipment operation; preventive and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Transportation Maintenance Tech II:
Performs moderately complex transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: maintenance contract and/or material and process inspections; roadway maintenance and repair; lights and heavy equipment operation; preventative and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Transportation Maintenance Tech III:
Performs highly complex transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: contract maintenance and/or material and process inspection; roadway maintenance and repair; operates light and heavy equipment; preventative and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; helping the public during emergency situations; and training other employees. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments;
however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
No education required. Experience for Transportation Maintenance Tech (TMT): TMT I = No experience required TMT II = 1 year experience
* TMT III = 2 year's experience
* * Experience must be in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, heavy equipment operation, or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related technical training or education from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
