The Logistics Lead oversees a comprehensive range of logistics operations at market/above-market level. Based on scope, complexity, and organizational requirements, this role encompasses strategic management across multiple functional domains:
Third-Party Logistics Management, Cost Control and Optimization, Transportation Management, Customs Management, and Warehouse Management. The Logistics Lead operates in close coordination with the Head of Regional Logistics and collaborates with Quality, Packaging, and Engineering teams to optimize material selection and distribution center layouts.
Provide comprehensive accountability for the performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of logistics and warehouse operations across multiple distribution sites and CMO sites.
Third-Party Logistics ManagementDirect daily operational excellence, orchestrate interface challenges, implement strategic management of interface challenges, develop and maintain robust business continuity plans, oversee inbound process optimization, manage product damage resolution and returns processing, ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice, lead internal, external, and GDP audits, and prepare audit documentation.
Supplier Relationship ManagementEvaluate supplier strategic value, cultivate strategic partnerships, serve as interface during routine scrums, identify cost optimization opportunities, coordinate supplies management of materials and packaging, and establish service level agreements.
Service Level Agreement DevelopmentArticulate business objectives and detailed service specifications, develop KPIs and performance targets, establish performance-based compensation structures, and implement remediation protocols.
Performance ManagementOversee vendor managed inventory systems, maintain KPI frameworks with weekly/monthly performance reviews, establish systematic cost control processes, and review and approve 3PL invoices with continuous improvement focus.
Operational ExcellenceAlign best practices, engage stakeholders to optimize 3PL core model, drive process improvement initiatives, and facilitate feedback collection for continuous improvement.
Cost Control and OptimizationDevelop action plans for distribution cost tracking, implement expenditure controls, engage cross-functional stakeholders on distribution models, and integrate cost considerations into strategic decisions.
Transportation ManagementDirect transportation planning and execution, optimize cost-to-serve metrics, implement KPI monitoring frameworks, support audits, and establish backup protocols.
Customs ManagementDirect import/export operations, ensure compliance and documentation, train backup personnel, and develop business continuity planning.
Warehouse ManagementProvide strategic support for internal distribution center operations in compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Distribution Practice.
About YouRequired Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain experience; minimum 4+ years navigating complex external vendor relationships; bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; professional-level English proficiency.
Preferred QualificationsOnsite logistics experience and cold chain knowledge; exceptional relationship management capabilities; collaborative leadership; influence without authority; extensive team and project management experience; knowledge of import/export regulations and Good Distribution Practice; proficiency with logistics management systems; APICS certification; understanding of pharmaceutical trade environment; expertise in KPI development, SLA management, process improvement, change management, data analytics.
