Quality Control Technician I – Virology (QC Lab)
Location: Swiftwater, PA
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position OverviewSanofi’s contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Quality Control Technician I – Virology for a 12-month contract assignment.
This position supports routine and non-routine testing activities within the QC Virology PCU laboratory to ensure the safety, potency, and purity of biological products in compliance with Federal Regulations, cGMP requirements, and Sanofi policies and procedures.
The Quality Control Technician will perform viral assays, maintain laboratory documentation, analyze test results, support laboratory operations, and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Job Responsibilities- Perform general viral assays including cell culture, plaque assays, egg-based assays, and other assigned laboratory testing.
- Maintain cell cultures used for viral testing activities.
- Demonstrate proficiency with laboratory electronic systems and data entry requirements.
- Support laboratory safety and compliance initiatives, including:
- Cleaning laboratories, equipment, and ancillary areas
- Maintaining laboratory supplies and inventory
- Following safety procedures and GMP requirements
- Attend and contribute to team, department, and safety meetings.
- Participate in required training activities.
- Interpret test results, identify deviations, and elevate issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate documentation, complete required records, manage waste disposal, and perform additional laboratory duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Virology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field.
- Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and virology techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and biosafety procedures.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn technical laboratory systems.
- Strong documentation practices and understanding of data integrity principles.
- Experience working in a GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or vaccine manufacturing environment.
- Experience with viral assays, microbiology testing, or biological product testing.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic documentation systems.
- Must be able to receive required vaccinations to qualify for this position.
- Position may require weekend and/or holiday work depending on testing needs.
