Job Description & How to Apply Below
* _Emissions & Auto-Electrical Systems_
* Location:
* Swindon-based, with nationwide travel
* Salary:* £40,000–£50,000 Basic + Overtime
* Job type:
* Permanent, full-time
* Schedule:
* Monday to Friday, day shifts
* Benefits:
* Company van, fuel card, specialist training and development
* About the Role
* This is far more than a traditional field service role.
As a Mobile Commercial Vehicle Diagnostic Technician, you'll be based from our specialist workshop in Swindon, dividing your time between supporting our workshop team and working at customer depots across the UK. You'll help some of the country's leading bus, coach and HGV operators solve complex technical problems that directly impact fleet reliability and vehicle availability.
Working on modern Euro 5 and Euro 6 commercial vehicles, you'll diagnose faults involving emissions systems, vehicle electronics and engine management using advanced diagnostics, electrical testing and live vehicle data.
Your role is to understand how complex vehicle systems interact, identify the true root cause of faults and deliver practical engineering solutions, rather than simply replacing components based on fault codes.
Your work will include DPF, DOC, SCR and SCRT systems, AdBlue dosing equipment, electrical control units, sensors, wiring, CAN communication networks and associated vehicle systems. You'll also support technical investigations and component refurbishment within our Swindon workshop, helping to strengthen the specialist expertise that underpins everything we do.
No two days are the same. One day you could be diagnosing an intermittent electrical fault at a customer depot; the next, investigating a failed emissions component in the workshop or working alongside a fleet engineering manager to resolve a challenging technical issue.
If you're naturally curious, enjoy solving problems that others can't and want to build specialist expertise in one of the fastest evolving areas of commercial vehicle engineering, you'll find this role both challenging and rewarding.
* About Intechnic
* Intechnic is a specialist commercial vehicle emissions engineering company supporting many of the UK's leading bus, coach and HGV operators. From our workshop in Swindon and through our nationwide field engineering team, we deliver advanced diagnostics, emissions system repairs, component refurbishment and technical support that help customers reduce downtime, extend component life and improve fleet reliability.
What sets us apart is our engineering approach. We don't believe in replacing parts until a fault disappears. We believe in understanding how modern vehicle systems work together, identifying the real cause of a problem and delivering the right solution first time.
We're continually investing in specialist knowledge, diagnostic capability and emerging technologies because modern commercial vehicles demand engineers who never stop learning. Our engineers are trusted to think independently, share knowledge and take ownership of the work they do.
If you're looking for more than routine servicing and want to become part of a business where technical ability, curiosity and professional pride are genuinely valued, Intechnic offers the opportunity to build specialist expertise while supporting some of the UK's largest commercial vehicle fleets.
