Position: Commercial Analyst (m/f/d)
Location: Kaiseraugst

Role

This is a highly visible and impactful role within the commercial organization.

As a Commercial Analyst, you will transform complex commercial data into powerful, visually intuitive insights that directly influence decision‑making at leadership level and enable more effective client engagement.

Beyond classical reporting, your focus will be on data storytelling, visualization, and actionable insights — helping the business understand:

  • Where client follow‑up is insufficient (especially with smaller accounts)
  • How to improve engagement and conversion across the pipeline
  • How to unlock additional revenue opportunities
  • How to drive more business development success with both existing and new clients
Key Responsibilities Commercial Performance & Pipeline Insights
  • Analyze sales performance, order intake, and revenue trends across customers, projects, and therapeutic areas
  • Evaluate pipeline health using CRM data (opportunities, conversion rates, sales cycles)
  • Generate insights on business development performance and deal progression
Data Visualization & Commercial Storytelling (Core Focus)
  • Build high‑impact, visually compelling dashboards and tools for leadership and client‑facing teams with (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or similar
    )
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, intuitive, and actionable visuals
  • Move beyond purely statistical reporting: focus on usability and decision support
  • Leverage modern analytics tools and AI‑supported solutions to enhance data interpretation
  • Visualize and highlight:
  • Engagement opportunities within smaller accounts
  • Hidden growth potential across the customer portfolio
KPI Management & Reporting
  • Define, track, and standardize key commercial KPIs (pipeline value, win rates, revenue, margins, lifecycle metrics)
  • Ensure alignment and consistency across commercial, finance, and operations
  • Develop scalable reporting frameworks supporting strategic decision‑making
  • Calculate and validate sales incentives based on compensation models
  • Track individual and team performance vs. targets
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR to ensure accurate and timely payouts
Forecasting & Commercial Planning
  • Build data‑driven sales forecasts based on pipeline and historical trends
  • Partner with Business Development and Project Management to assess deal probability and timing
  • Support budgeting, S&OP inputs, and long‑term planning
CRM & Data Governance (Salesforce)
  • Ensure high data quality, completeness, and consistency in CRM
  • Improve CRM structures, usage, and reporting capabilities
  • Support sales teams in maintaining meaningful and accurate pipeline data
Business Partnering & Strategic Insights
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Commercial Leadership and cross‑functional teams
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on pricing, margins, customer profitability, and portfolio performance
  • Support strategic initiatives such as account planning and portfolio optimization
  • Deliver clear recommendations that directly influence commercial decisions
What You Bring Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in commercial analytics, sales operations, or business analytics
  • Experience in pharma, biotech, CRO/CDMO, or life sciences strongly preferred
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (data modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas)
  • Experience with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce)
