We run our business with a strong local focus and resources, as well as international reporting lines. Our Swiss and Austrian entities combined are in the range of 500-1000 employees and generate a local market volume of a medium, double-digit million value. As our business in Switzerland and Austria is rapidly growing, we are currently looking to enrich our local Senior Management Team with a:
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Switzerland & Austria
Full time – f/m/d
JOB PURPOSE:The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) holds ultimate financial accountability for our corporate entities in Switzerland and Austria. The primary purpose of this role is to drive financial stability, sustainable growth, and operational excellence across both markets. Combining a strategic vision with a true hands-on mentality, you will actively secure optimal financing solutions and maintain a deep, operational understanding of the business situation to drive success across both countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supply the necessary financial / statistic data to senior management to ensure decisions can be made in efficient and reasonable manner
- Establish, optimize, and oversee the monthly reporting, including full Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets for Switzerland and Austria.
- Ensure financial operations are on current technical standard and tasks can be executed in an operator-friendly and efficient manner.
- Implement and monitor reliable control systems and understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile. Monitor all open issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
- Lead and orchestrate the annual statutory audit processes for both Switzerland and Austria, ensuring full compliance and successful completion within strict, legally mandated time frames.
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced related to tax, finance, legal
- Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for both country entities
- Monitor cash balances and establish robust cash forecasting mechanisms to optimize liquidity across both markets
- Manage relationship with banks and proactively prepare and propose strategic financing solutions to support the company’s capital requirements and growth initiatives.
- Manage insurance policies related to assets, operations, risks, liability and personnel (in coordination with Human Resources)
- Manage designated finance / accountants team in personnel & operational matters
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior management team
- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the local and group-wide management team
- Manage all accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury operations
REQUIRED:
- Completed financial Studies, (e.g. “Eidg. dipl. Experte Rechnungslegung & Controlling”) or similar studies on university level (“FH/Universität)
- At least 5 years of previous experience in a similar position or as Certified Accountant (“Wirtschaftsprüfer”) in Switzerland or Austria.
- impeccable knowledge of local and ideally international accounting standards and legal predispositions
- Analytic and result-oriented thinking
- Ideally experienced with MS-Navision / Dynamics
- Highly proficient in MS-Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in managing a team
- Strong intercultural competencies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and German;
French as an advantage - Ideally previous experience in an international and consumer-oriented environment
