Position Overview

The VP Product Management Access Hardware Solutions (AHS) is accountable for the end-to-end success, strategic direction, and business performance of the AHS product family. This role holds overall ownership of the AHS portfolio and product lines while leading a team of Product Managers to drive sustainable growth, innovation, profitability, and competitiveness.

As the senior product leadership role for AHS, the position defines and executes the portfolio vision, steers investment priorities, and governs the complete product lifecycle. The VP Product Management AHS orchestrates cross-functional collaboration across global teams, leveraging platform and scale opportunities while ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, customer needs, and market developments. Through clear decision-making authority, governance, and escalation mechanisms, the role ensures effective execution of the product roadmap and achievement of business objectives.

Strategic Portfolio Leadership

• Own and drive the long-term vision and strategy for the AHS portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize customer needs, market trends, and growth opportunities.
• Ensure alignment of portfolio direction with business priorities and corporate strategy.
• Optimize the portfolio through platforming, standardization, and scalability initiatives.

Product Strategy & Roadmap Management

• Define and steer the global AHS strategy and innovation roadmap.
• Set portfolio priorities, investment focus, and resource allocation.
• Balance innovation, lifecycle management, and phase-out activities.
• Guide investment decisions to maximize portfolio value, growth, and profitability.

Product Portfolio & Offering Governance

• Define strategic guidelines for product offerings, value propositions, pricing, and portfolio positioning.
• Ensure customer and market insights drive portfolio decisions and product differentiation.
• Act as the key decision-maker for strategic product and portfolio matters.
• Manage portfolio complexity while maintaining competitiveness and customer value.

Cross-Functional Product Realization

• Lead the execution of the AHS product roadmap in collaboration with PD Competence Lead, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other key functions.
• Ensure delivery against agreed scope, timelines, quality standards, and business objectives.
• Drive accountability and resolve critical issues and escalations.
• Align resources and priorities with portfolio strategy and business goals.

Product Launch & Go-to-Market Leadership

• Ensure successful product launches and go-to-market readiness across global markets.
• Align positioning, pricing, and commercialization strategies across the portfolio.
• Sponsor key launch initiatives to maximize market impact.
• Support successful adoption and commercialization of new solutions.

Performance Management & Business Steering

• Own portfolio performance across revenue, profitability, growth, and competitiveness.
• Monitor business results and portfolio health.
• Drive corrective actions and portfolio adjustments based on performance insights.
• Track market and competitive developments to support business success.

Lifecycle & Phase-Out Management

• Govern the full product lifecycle across the AHS portfolio.
• Lead portfolio rationalization and product phase-out decisions.
• Balance innovation, customer needs, operational efficiency, and profitability.
• Ensure long-term portfolio health and sustainable growth.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the AHS Product Management team.
• Foster a high-performance and collaborative product management culture.
• Establish clear goals, accountability, and governance processes.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence strategic decisions across the organization.

• University degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business, Business Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, Product Marketing, Business Development, or a comparable leadership role.
• Entrepreneurial leader with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, capable of driving alignment and results across complex organizations.
• Proven experience managing complex product portfolios in an international matrix organization.
• Strong product lifecycle management experience from strategy and development through launch and phase-out.
• Experience leading cross-functional collaboration across Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
• Several years of people leadership experience, including leading and developing Product Management teams.
• Experience in access solutions, hardware, building technologies, security, or related industries is an advantage.
• Business fluent English required;
  German is a plus.
