Job Responsibilities- Perform all tasks in an accurate, precise, autonomous, and timely manner based on the project and subsequent laboratory planning of the Ecotox Biology department and according to GLP compliant SOPs.
- Set‑up, maintenance and subsequent performing of all static, semi‑static and flow‑through tests with all fish species across OECD guidelines.
- Perform general tasks including drafting/revision of SOPs, equipment calibration, lab maintenance, etc.
- Setting, controlling, maintaining, and mounting of automated static, semi‑static but in particular flow‑through systems.
- Work with various fish species across all life stages including eggs: selecting, observing, registering biometrical data and taking biological samples such as blood.
- Work with and maintain aquaria of various sizes allowing a high throughput.
- Prepare and apply chemical solutions across test systems.
- Take samples and subsequently measure biological, physical‑chemical and physiological parameters.
- Enter data and work with different types of software.
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree in biology (or related scientific domain).
- A valid certification/license regarding working with animals LTK1 (or even better LTK2) is mandatory.
- Preferably 2 years of experience in a GLP regulated environment.
- Preferably 2 years of experience with fish testing.
- Preferably 2 years of experience performing OECD tests with fish species in a GLP regulated CRO environment.
- Knowledge of OECD based fish testing in a GLP regulated environment.
- Knowledge of keeping, handling, sampling (blood, and other tissues) and testing fish.
- Knowledge of maintenance of flow‑through systems.
- Knowledge of EIA is an asset but not mandatory.
- English (fluent), German (preferably fluent), French (would be an asset but not mandatory).
- Working accurately and timely in a strictly regulated environment according to detailed SOPs.
- Working strictly accordingly to the planned provided and delivering results prior to the respective deadline.
- Working and handling highly technical static, semi‑static and especially flow‑through systems and hereby performing the test accurately and in timely including performing the required manipulation of equipment, aquaria, etc.
- Having an eye for detail hereby directly reporting failures or deviations.
- Working in a highly motivated and dynamic team.
- Working in a fast‑paced environment within a CRO framework.
