Welder

Description

The core purpose of the Welder is to support the project by executing 7018 Stick welding of galvanized and steel parts. The Welder will use proper equipment and follow all safety and site procedures while working on site.

• Prepares and lays out materials for cutting and welding
• Maintains and makes repairs to welding all equipment
• Identify shortages in material and equipment
• 7018 Stick welding, including the following:
• Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)
• Inspect welds for accuracy
• Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/galvanized parts
• Cleans and preps all welds for Painting
• Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location
• Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use
• Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections

• Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
• AWS Certification
• Minimum of 1 years welding experience
• Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trade
• Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of welding, steam fitting, and insulation trades
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to work from sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and broken parts
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used on work assignments
• Construction knowledge; high energy level; professionalism

Full Time position; hourly with benefits

Work Schedule:

45+ hours per week. Which may include evenings and weekends

This position will work from jobsites throughout the Unites States with the home office based out of Memphis, TN and report directly to the General Superintendent, substantial travel is required.
