About The OpportunityReporting to the Assistant Manager, the Carpenter is responsible for completing repairs/alterations to building structures; for example, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, millwork, abatement, flooring, wall cladding/paneling, Gyproc, etc., while adhering to building, fire, infection prevention and control codes and regulations. The incumbent is also responsible for small in‑house renovations and additions, including Infection Prevention and Control hoarding, as required. This work must be done in accordance with all provincial, building, fire, and infection prevention and control codes and regulations;
all pertinent hospital policies and procedures must also be adhered to.
- Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate required
- Two years experience with broad exposure within the construction industry in a similar organization
- Must adhere to Provincial and National Construction Building Codes, Dept. of Labour standards
- Travel between sites may be required
- Valid driver’s licence or access to reliable transportation required
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
$31.55 - $37.31 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
This is a support bargaining unit position. Preference is given to bargaining unit employees for unionized positions.
