Join Nova Scotia Power as a Utility Worker II in Halifax, Cape Breton. This full-time role involves utility inspections, maintenance, and safety compliance in a dynamic environment.
As part of the Line Inspector Program, you'll handle corrective assessments and conduct preventative vehicle maintenance. Your responsibilities will include regular travel, training courses for safety and environmental initiatives, and inspections using advanced technology. A commitment to personal and coworker safety is critical in this safety-sensitive role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Travel to transmission access points and maintain communication
• Conduct corrective damage assessments and coordinate repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
• Participate in safety and environmental training programs
• Inspect lines within the Distribution and Transmission System
Requirements:
• Grade XII education or equivalent
• Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and two years' experience
• Ability to perform heavy labor and use hand tools
• Experience with aerial devices is an asset
• Strong environmental awareness and safety knowledge
